Cold Junk Press of the Year: RP Edition (Happy Holidays!)

^The image above pretty much sums up my feelings for the new year...
-eyes shift around abit- Sup folks! Hope ya'll are having a great December! I know I am! .... er.... kinda wtf.... Class has ended for now, big plans are being made for next year, my toy budget is dying slowly but surely, i'm getting my ass handed to me in SSFIV: AE 2012 (Also known as Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Upper... Still kind of a long name -slaps self-), been learning the arts of patience (i'll get to that soon), been assigned to work on all holiday days this month, played through a numerous amount of indie games, been watching more random junk, AND I've been plotting a way to return to the store/gallery of my dreams of my dreams -PHEW-. I've been making Father-Time my enemy once again... We all know the outcome to this wont end well =.=...

This month hasnt been all bad though... We had a neighborhood black out on early Xmas morning (about 2am?), everyone was outside in the dark, waving around their cellphones and flashlights LOL. best Xmas evrar. I also had a chance to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It is quite nice to take a break from the usual junk I've been doing... I still wonder if legends such as the Holy Grail or The Black Knight have really existed? Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong Time Era -sighs-

Animeness:

So....-cough- I've been trying to watch Eureka 7 lately, especially since so many people have still been posting random priorities of the series. I've been slacking off after episode 4, though (I have the habit of multi-tasking when I watch anime series' like this). I stumbled upon ANOTHER anime I wanted to watch.... This wasn't any other anime though.... This was...
A f*()&&*(^ MEGAMAN OVA! Wtf?! When I was growing up, the only kind of Megaman show I'VE seen is this on HERE (im sure everyone is familiar with it). This Megaman anime seemed different, though... THIS is the same animeish Megaman we see in Marvel vs Capcom games! The SAME animeish Megaman wee see in those Megaman 8 cutscenes! The same cute animeish Megaman I truely believed WAS Classic Megaman -huffhuffhuff-... Let me just share it:

^Click above to view the OVA/OAV/ whatever
I thought it was a pretty good ova.. Sure, it was abit cute and had its kiddy moments but WTF... IT'S MEGAMAN! what more could you ask for?! Even Protoman joins the fray to light up a few asses... I think I may like this better than the USA animated series bummed... -turns head toward the window- .... Is that.... Gutsman's ass? o.O.....

News of a Rurouni Kenshin live action movie has been released lately. I am abit glad that this isnt an American made film-coughcoughcoughDragonballEvolutioncougcoughcoughcough-.. That movie will always leave a bad taste in my mouth... Anywho! This movie actually looks pretty decent! Rurouni Kenshin is one of my most favorite animes of all time. Kenshin's character has always been prettty memoriable and I still continue to recommend this anime to the younger/newer generation of anime fans. I wont go into a long summary about the anime but I pray..... for the sake of ALL that is Holy.... for this movie... I seriously HOPE it wont turn out to be a giant pile of pinecones -_-. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY (yep, I voted that comment up.)

Oh.... Almsot forgot... -reaches into pocket-
Here:

^ I saw RedLine a few days ago. It really reminds me of F-Zero... Or maybe GTO? MAYBE even Initial D (another anime I haven't seen LOL).

Besides all dat hype above, I ordered this bad ass Melty Blood Play Mat for my desk! Never would have known about it if I didn't go late Xmas shopping with a few of my friends yo. I ordered it online and it came.... smelling... like.... an effing HORSE STABLE... like WTF? Ah well! Nothing a few sprays of Febreze® wont fix. -spray spray-

p.s. shoutout to the fellas that made my Xmas awesome this year yo. I wanna thank my dawgs for some of dese awesome presents (Pic below is semi-related. I have NOT seen Trigun before... I guess some friends DO keep thoughts like that in mind shocked... I know... Shame on me for NOT seeing all of Trigun, YET). Thanks again guys and I hope ONE of you enjoy yo copy of Skyrim.... ye... im lookin at you, Mr.Skyrim.

-Randomly smothers face with a chilidog- DAMN STRAIGHT, SON! I have been playing Sonic Generations here and there and WOW.... I must say, this game is probably the best newer gen Sonic game that I've played in a while. I enjoyed Sonic 1-3 (THE MOST), thought Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were alright, and the rest of the newer gen. sonic games never really caught my interest (They just didnt feel the same anymore at this point). I'm sure alot of you are familiar with the dreaded "Sonic-Cycle" and no, im not going to explain it since im sure the previous link or Google Images could help fill you in on that. my hopes of having a revamped Chao Garden, being able to play as other Sonic Characters, and wifi features may be in the dim for now but Sega delivering us Sonic Generations will keep me in high hopes for now.. Being able to play through the game's stages in so many different ways is just mind boggling... I mean there are 2 different point of views (New Gen. and Old Gen. Sonic) for each stage you play, you could change the stage music with a large array of familiar AND redone Sonic BG Music, there are PLENTY of side missions, AND you're even able to equip all sorts of power-ups in the game. This game has ALOT of replay-value.. THAT is how a Sonic game should be. Dont like running through Chemical Plant the old fashioned, Sonic 2 way? WELL! Try playing through it, equpped with speed up skills, increased rings, fire shields, bubble shields, electric shields, super sonic mode, etc. I'm glad Sega decided to listen to its fanbase about paying more attention to the oldies Sonic (when the games were done Right), hope Sega will continue to listen out to it's fanbase from here on out.... You know what? I'm done... This game is JUST awesome, Y R U NOT PLAYING IT RIGHT NOW?! -throws a copy in your face- bitter

YES! You've guessed it! I have been playing SSFIV AE 2012 update... I totally forgot about UMVC3. I do play on and off and the fact that Capcom has released the new Heroes and Heralds mode kinda itches my curiousity. I suppose I should practice up with my Red Arremer (Known of Firebrand to us USA chumps) abit more. I've seen some pretty insane stuff that players have come up with ALREADY! How long as the game been released already??? Holy cow dude... Although I do play like crap in UMVC3, I really do enjoy watching casuals and tournies for this game. Theyre usually quite random and sometimes funny to see when WESKER isnt seen in every single damn match up. Like, SERIOUSLY, MAN! If I had a dime for ever Wesker mirror I've seen on stream, i'd be pretty damn rich. Next UMVC3 update shall be called "Turbo Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: Wesker Edition". LOL I shouldnt be talking either... AE became 2012 due to the fact that people kept calling it Yun Edition. Ugh... Yun.... Oh! I also dig some of dem awesome, new Heroes and Heralds cards! Way to slap the fact that none of these characters will be playable in the game, Capcom bummed...

What do I think about the AE 2012 update?
Unlike most players that are more indepth with the game (frames, traps, "unlockables", safe moves, kara-throws, certain unnoticed nerfs, etc.), I cant really complain about the updates they've given to the game. SURE, I could sit here and post a list of buffs and nerfs(*ahem* like I did before..) , buuuuut I really cant (don't have THAT much indepth knowledge about Vega LOL). Alls I can say is that im kinda glad about a few of the updates, like the Sky High Claw, for one (DownCharge> Up> HP-MP-LP) now having a knock back effect (which kinda makes sense if you have a guy with a claw flying into your face head on). This new update gives me the opportunity to either put together more mind game opportunities OR to back off from an opponent. Vega isnt really the type of character you'd see pulling off insane comboes like other aggressive characters.. He gets pressured easily by rushdown players. So updates like this actually help him abit (in my opinion). I've seen other Vega players that have had beef with these recent update since EVERYONE in the roster has been updated as well. They too, have updated moves and tools that could slap Vega silly if he isnt careful.
Next, i'll either be aiming to play King of Fighters XIII in the near future (as soon as the game has a price drop OR if they fix their assy netcode) or will probably just wait around for Street Fighter x Tekken AKA Super Smash Brothers for 360/PS3 LOL -unsheaths Ike's Regal Sword- Prepare yourself! 2012 is going ot be one hell of a year! I THINK WE SHOULD ALL END THE YEAR WITH SOME MANLY GRAPPLER ACTION! RAWR, BRO!!!!!!! -smashes coffee cup over his head-. WARNING: The video below may cause MANLY, unwanted chest hairs.

^Aside from new gen. gaming.... NOSTALGIA gaming time! I remembered to post atleast 1 nostalgia gameplay video for this month... The quality really sucks though, hopefully I could find something abit better than Camstudio (or atleast fix it with better settings):

^Decided to play around with Nintendo 64 games for now. I'll probably hit up epsxe for some Digimon Rumble Arena 1 pretty soon... Mwhahaha.... (Renamon is SO OP in that game for some reason). I really did miss playing Mischief Makers and Pilot Wings 64 to be honest, though.... I saw that gametrailers actually made a video about Mischief Makers not too long ago.. I think this is a MUST play for those that haven't seen the light of N64 days. If you happen to bump into an old emulator or if you have the actual console then... take a look at it! You wont be disappointed..

ALRIGHT! So... As mentioned before... -kinda torrented a Super Awesome Indie Game Collection-. 500+ Indie Games! MOST of them working! AHHHH!!!!!!! SO MUCH HYPE!!!! I'll gladly share a few of them with you. I dont really want to post any download links for now... So just look them up if you're ever interested.

Legend of Princess - Ever wondered how the Legend of Zelda would be like if it were a 2D beat em up game? Welp! This game is for you. Many combos to pull off, baddies, weapon possibilities! This game rocks.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Love+ - I dont feel much love in this game.. Basically an old school platformer. You start off with 99 lives (dont laugh at my 67 lives... long story) and you also have the ability to save your position almost anywhere on the map. Nifty, eh? (I'll be honest.. the name of the game sounded like a Sim Dating game at first ><)

 Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Tasty Static - Reminds me of F-Zero... I havent played enough to notice any races yet but these obstacle courses tracks are pretty neat. REALLY dig the graphics of this game.

 Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Umbrella Adventure - Now, THIS game seems abit odd. Basic platformer introducing a cat character and his... umbrella (like the title of the game states). I like the setting and feel of this game and might end up playing it further once I finish this weblog. It's a pretty decent game imo.

 Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Xeno Fighters - At first, I was all like ".... oh... another game like 1942...". I gave it a chance, went to the ship selection screen -eyes shift around the roster and STOPS- "Oh my God... Is that ZAPDOS?!" and yes... It is Zapdos zapping the HELL out of planes in the photo above. WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?! A POKEMON ZAPPING THE HELL OUT OF AIRPLANES!! DUDE! The person who made this game should be president. There are a few other player models as well, DEFINITELY worth checking out.

Knightly - One of those 2D side-scrolling shoot em up games. It kinda gives me that cute Maple Story feeling. It's actually pretty fun surprised.
There are other games I've played, such as: Fuzz Power, Free Ice Cream, Link's Awakening (Remake), Resident Evil M.u.g.e.n. Edition, Super Smash Bros Land, and Grotto King but i'll get back to you with those abit later silly.

Figure Talk:

FINALLY! IT IS HERE! The DC Direct Black Canary figure! I mainly bought this since I've been wanting to do a review on a DC Direct figure for quite some time now... I DID order the Edaction Hot Stuff Body since alot of you seem to be finding my blog through that outdated photo of it. Sadly, that review will have to wait until January -ragefacehere.png-. I ordered the Seamless Body waaaaay back in November 21st from TianJin, China and was wondering why it was taking SO long to arrive... The eBay seller said that the figure would be would be in stock by december and I noticed that other sellers in Hong Kong had the item in stock, ALREADY! So I decided to wait abit until finally... my patience ran out. I emailed the seller about the body and he had told me that he wouldnt be receiving the bodies in stock until January..... Like WTF dude? He could have atleast updated his eBay page or could have emailed me about this update. So I decided to do abit of some research and found out that he DID make another updated eBay listing stating that the figure wouldnt be in stock until Q2 or Q3 of NEXT year??? why???? wtf? So I decided to cancel my order and just wait until payday for when I could actually buy this figure body from somebody WHO ACTUALLY HAS IT IN STOCK! I am an impatient person when it comes to orders and I know some of you are probably all like "Just wait for it", "You'll be getting it anyways", "Derp only a 1 month wait" but NO. I have been looking forward to doing a review on this figure body for a very long time and getting screwed over by delays and unsure wait times isnt my cup of tea (especially when it's a purchase that is more than $100). I apologize to those of you who wanted to see a review of the fig.. I guess you'll just have to catch a review from the 100s of other peeps that have received this figure already OR wait for me to receive this fig for myself... ( I already have an extra doll head and outfit waiting for this body... bummed -begins dusting them off-).
Anyways -slaps self- This is one of many times in my life where I have ACTUALLY payed attention to a DC Comic Hero/Heroine (The last time was when I was all Hype for Teen Titans on Cartoon Network LOL). Don't get me wrong! I've always been quite a fan of Batman... ( oh boohoo! another Batman "wanna-be fanboy" hurr durr). Ya'll are probably wondering WHY I ordered Black Canary in the first place. Well, NOT only did I buy this figure because it was in my budget range, but also for the memory of an old friend... -flashback begins-
**Sappy sad story below. Skip ahead if you don't want to read**
Back in the days when I used to Roleplay (Rp) often on AOL (5.0,6.0, 7.0? This was back in 2002, give or take), I had a friend who always used to roleplay as Black Canary. During this time, rpers were quite common and would normally meet up in AOL user chats or on old, various RP Websites (Another old friend of mine was OllieHopping! See if you could spot him in there). Roleplays ranged from anything to animes (Digimon and Inuyasha were popular during the time) to Video Games (Lots of Final Fantasy rps) to many other various subjects. Anywho! Canary and I  met in a random RP Chatroom and we became quick friends as we waited around for other Rpers to join our Roleplay. We began talking about various animes, comics, tv shows, and games! Day after day, week after week, month after month. I dont really remembered much about her... except that she was part of a DC roleplay website, loved Final Fantasy games, was a hardcore Christian, and she had epilepsy ><. She is one of many friends that would always message me whenever I logged onto AOL... We would either chit chat or would join random Rp chats during 1am (I had class the following morning)... One RP I remember:
RandomUsername: (This is an Inuyasha RP! Inuyasha Characters only!)
Canary(randomnumbershere): (well, what if I made my character a random villian from the series? villians are sometimes random in Inuyasha, right? I wouldnt mind fitting my character into a Fuedal Japan Era)
RandomUsername: (Well... Alright)
-1 hour of roleplay later-
RandomUsername: *unsheaths sword and points it at canary* you wont get away with kidnapping shippou like this!!!
Canary(randomnumbershere): ::laughs meniacally:: silly fool! you honestly think that tooth pick of yours could save anybody? BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Me (rping as shippou): *struggles* oy oy oy !!! STOP holding me by the tail! THIS KINDA HURTS!!
Canary(randomnumbershere): (LOL your pain is music to my ears)
-whole chat would LOL-
^I dont remember their username much LOL
Like most online friends in the past, she just stopped logging on. I doubt i'll ever see Canary again but I truly hope that she is doing alright after all these years... Take care, old friend.
**Anyways**
I have known about DC Directs line of 1/6 scale figures but never really got around to buying any of them (NOT because I dont pay much attention to DC) because I heard that these figures were actually abit taller than the usual 12" 1/6 scale figures. Would you still consider those 1/6 scale figs? I have seen many different kinds of DC Direct figs that I've wanted... like: Batman, Harely Quinn, Green Lantern, Rorschach, Dr.Manhattan, Poison Ivy, Zatanna (You get the idea). I'm tired of other figure companies only releasing the same ol Batman and Superman figs... -coughcoughIMLOOKINGATYOUMedicomandHotToyscough-. Forgot to mention that some of these fig prices are -phew-... I guess they get abit more expensive depending on the popularity and rarity of each figure (Batman and Superman are pretty expensive and Harely Quinn seems to be hard to find... She's racking up at the $300 range to what I've seen). Though, I am glad that DC Direct actually releases figures like these.. Figs of other DC heroes that arent just Superman or Batman.. Owning this Black Canary fig makes me want to hit up my local comic book store to check out a couple of her comics... Hell! I just might like them... Oh... I also have to check out Brother Voodoo while im at it <_<...(A friend mentioned this hero to me and I didnt believe him... Till I found him out in Wikipedia >_>;;; ).

DC Direct's Black Canary
Sorry about the blehphotos today, I really wanted to rush and do this review before the month ends.. I've been waiting anxiously for this figure since my previous dilemma with the Hot Stuff Body BS. What I had read about the figure's height and size was correct... Black Canary is abit bigger than most of the figures in my collection (Thus, she kinda stands out at the Donna in my collection). Not a bad thing though, I'll mostl ikely be keeping her posed next to my PS3 or my TV  or MAYBE even on my desk. Er, Anyways! She comes with a pair of extra hands, an extra head (that is fixated on her trademark "Canary Cry" expression), an AWESOME stand/figure base (i'll get to this soon), 2 eye masks, and her leathery clothing of course.

NOW my favorite part -nerdy fan boy drool-... THE BODY (No, I dont post nudes on here but here is a suitable photo that sums up the body). This figure body makes me think that it's a mixture between those Cygirl bodies and a Medicom body. The body shape and articularion are very similiar to that of a CyGirl body (I had a CyGirl fig many years ago but of course I kinda lost it over time ><). The articulation is decent all around except for -gasp- the hands. Her hands can only twist around in a 360 motion since her arm only has a peg attachment for her spare hands. They cannot move up or down like the other cy girl bodies that have a hole in their arms to support the stick-like connection that are atteched to the hands (thus, making an all around articulation motion for the hands). Surprisingly, the head/neck articulation aint half bad for a fully sculpted head figure. The hands are kinda tough to attach for now, I wouldnt recommend re-attaching them frequently since arm connector pegs such as this usually wear and break INTO the hand connector, eventually -_- -grabs figure and inspects chest. As for the Medicom part of the figure... I mainly say this because of the upper torso area! It is made out of a soft plastic (or vinyl?) material to make the figure seem abit more flesh like in that area (similar to the Medicom Son Goku Figure). As a man, even MY own eyes cant lay off the beautiful appearance of this figure's busty chest (Do most DC heroines/villians have big busts like this?? oO; ). Anyways, the heads are also easy to attach since the top of the neck has a ball joint ontop. P.S. one of the eye masks attaches itself to the figure head just fine while the other slips off.... Don't know if this is just me or if it is a problem with other copies of the figure.

As I mentioned before: the figure seems to be abit bigger than the usual 1/6 scale figures in my collection. Does this still count as a 1/6 scale figure? Why didn't DC Direct make them 12 inch figures like everybody else? Is Black Canary REALLY ment to be this busty? I will never know and I do not feel like ruining this figure by shortening it's height myself. I mainly collect 1/6 scale figures due to the fact that I disliked owning toys that were all different sizes when I was a kid. G.I. Joes, TMNT, Power Rangers, Mighty Max, Random anime figs, Video Game figs, it just didnt matter! They were ALL different sizes and it sucked having to use my imagination SO MUCH just to ignore the fact that this 5 inch Leonardo figure were fighting against 7-8 inch power rangers. I like having figs that are about the same height more or less. I could forgive DC Direct though, maybe they thought bigger was better? Other than that, I must say that this figure actually pleases me wtf? Great job, DC Direct! Not only for the figure itself but also because...

^Do ya'll see this? THIS is how you make a f*()&*(*(& decent figure stand. I seriously want to take this stand and slap Medicom across the face with this. THIS is a figure stand, dude! It is so simple and yet it screams perfection. It doesnt look like much, it doesnt feel cheap, the name is engraved on the base (which is slightly scratched up, thanks to the boots), and there is NO crappy, plastic holder that comes with those stupid, unreliable screws that Medicom gives with their figures. Just a nice stand with holes attached to the stick/supporter for the pincher/holder to attach onto (i'll call it the pincher). The pincher has a smell mechanism in the back that prevents it from sliding down when you attach the figure itself to it. The supporter has holes so the pincher could *snap* to any height level as you please. NOT only that, but, the pincher ALSO rotates 360 degrees!  Y DO NONE OF MY OTHER FIGURE STANDS DO THIS?! I feel as if DC Direct would make quite a profit if they sold figure stands alone. Seriously, I would buy a figure stand from them for every single one of my figs. Dead serious. Ya'll other companies could learn ALOT from DC Direct... jus sayin, yo...

Pros:
  • Decent articulation
  • Awesome appearance (especially the bust...)
  • Accessories
  • GODLY figure stand
  • Decent box art
Cons:
  • Limited hand articulation
  • Eye-Mask problem?
  • Outsizes most 1/6 scale figs

So, I decided to buy, yet, ANOTHER wig for Yukino.. This time, I wanted to go all RAMBO on it with the free AXE Hold+Touch Spiking glue that you bros randomly attached on my apartment doorknob for free -pour abit on his fuzzy hair-.... I dont know how accurate this thing is on black peep's hair but... It sure does work damn well on Yukino's Wig LOL. I dont really feel like hurting my wallet this month on expensive Dollfie Dream products (ESPECIALLY since I get charged $10 shipping PLUS an additional California Tax =.=...). I'm sure a few collectors have also taken this route for doll styling as well. So far, so good! I managed to take a few holidays photos atleast >.>;
