blkn3ko's last post of the year! (12/31/10)

The year is ending and im going to be at work during the countdown! I suppose its better than spending it alone at home like last year. I dont really have any New Year's resolutions for next year (although I DO need to lay off the soda ._.) but I MIGHT be going to:

Animé Los Angeles
Next weekend!!! I'm not going to cosplay but I would love to take many photos of cosplayers, hopefully my next paychick and bills will take it easy on my extra Christmas pay on my paycheck next week ^^;. For those of you who DONT know about this and are wondering why im not shouting this out is because I honestly dont know if I really AM going for sure or not. I wouldnt want anybody calling off of work or doing some extra hard planning just for me to say that I am not going ^^;. Hopefully going there will be alot of fun, I might even be able to get some good offers like the ones I missed out on LAST Anime Convention in July (I saw a Triad Toys Jin and Mugen there for $35 ._., too bad I didnt have any pocket change on me during the time...).

So I was taking photos last time (about the same time I posted that Leon photo in my last weblog) and I forgot to mention this weird looking hut in the area I was in. This area is a large lot full of nothing but dead grass, dirt, and rocks. It's about the size of a large warlmart (maybe bigger) and the very right side of this squared parameter has this deep looking trench? Ok. it's pretty hard to explain since I cant really think of a way to describe this since I have to leave to work soon but i'd say its the "downhill" part of the area. This part of the area is crowded with bushes, trees, and many other things that you probably wouldnt want to be falling into but well... Anyways I saw this weird little hut down there and I was curious about it confused. I didnt get near it or anything since I had a feeling that maybe a homeless person must've put it together or something but it looked sooooo neat, I wanted to take photos of it at close range but sadly I couldnt since I was too afraid sad. My camera couldnt do much justice for it.

That's Corona/Riverside for you shy.

Figure Talk

1/6 Scale Meyrin Hawke Figure:

Do I like Gundams? Of course. Have you seen Gundam Seed? No. Dont get me wrong, I love Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam Wing, and G Gundam! I've played Dynasty Warriors Gundam and used to play Gundam battle assault on playstation! It's ALL ABOUT RX-78, Zakus, AND Acguy! YEAH! Gundam HEAVY ARMS BOI! U GON GET BURNED BY SHINING GUNDAM'S BURNING FINGER DAWG! STEP OFF MAH GRILL! nah jk jk jk jk jk. I have tried to watch Gundam Seed but have never taken much interest to it as much as the other Gundam animes. I dont know why but I DO like the Character design and Gundam designs too. The reason why I play Gundam games now is because of the older models from the older animes, seeing newer gundam games with all these Gundam Seed and Gundam Unicorn models and what not kinda pisses me off.... Lay off fan boys, im just super saiyan.
Anyways! MegaHouse makes a good deal of figures and statues as well as many other miniatures and more! I was on the usual eBay and found Meyrin at a reasonable price (probably making her the cheapest MegaHouse doll i've seen so for, good for starter collectors I suppose?) and snatched her up. The FIRST TIME I had her was a couple of years back, I was really excited to receiver her. To be honest, I never really knew of her existence until I wandered around a certain someone's blog (someone who kinda inspired me xD). I do have photos of her from when I first started photographing figures (though, I shall only share one silly):

The figure itself is pretty neat. The head sculpt is amazing, clothes are accurate, and I really havent had any problems with the body either. The only problem is decided whether you want to keep the jacket on permanently or take it off to pose her in her blue undershirt. The neck collar does look nice but it seems to be sewn SHUT. Seems like the only way to remove the jacket is to either nip the collar in 2 or remove her head (Which was a BIG mistake I made with the first one). I decided to leave the head alone on my most recent one and so far things are working out regardless of having the collar looking fancy or not. To me, the body looks like one of those obitsu bodies. The upper torso is rubber/vinyl while the rest of the body is just plain plastic, the articulation is decent but the arms sure do fall off alot.
I always enjoy the way Meyrin shows up in photos, she always seems to look great inside

Outside as well laughing

I have to leave to work soon so i'll just leave this short and sweet.
Pros
  • Excellent Headsculpt
  • Body is well articulated
  • Agreeable price
  • Rubber/Vinyl Torso

    Cons
    • Arms slip out of body
    • Collar should have a hook or head should be easier to remove
    • Accessories would have been nice. I dont know if Haro is in GS but I sure do miss him. Bleep Boop...
So if you ever find this doll/figure around then check it out, it's areally great figure whether you're a Gundam fan, collector, or a kid looking for a new barbie...=.=

Thanks alot for looking at my review! I would do more but I have to jet for work now sad. Hope you all have a safe New Years Eve!
