. I've always thought that I shouldnt complain much about things (Even IF I have a bad work weekend, have run out of cigarettes, OR suffering from leg pain...), so I guess the best thing to do is just move on and let life take its toll. I've already gotten myself education ready for next year and im really excited to be heading back to class finally
. Yep... That's pretty much all I have to complain about for today. This post is pretty much going to be a figure talk from here till the end, so those of you who arent really interested me reminiscing about figures could ignore this and wait for my next weblog entry (sorry ^^; ).
Figure Talk:
I noticed that I havent mentioned much about my other figures in my collection other than the ones I've received in the mail from time to time. I've had quite a few figures for a while and the weblog entries from before are just new additions to my collection. Unless if you've seen them on my Deviant Art or my Flickr, im sure some of you are probably unaware of what I do and dont own xD. I guess I could also take this time to explain my feelings and what not with each figure I am about to mention. BUT FIRST, I'll start off with the newest figure I've received from my aunt today! Funny Story: My aunt visits my mother from time to time and they both sometimes come into my room to take a look at how "interesting" it looks (more like weird to them
). Sometimes my aunt or mother would ask me about about my collection is or what I have in store for my Dollfie Dream in the future (I usually dress Yukino in different wigs/outfits from time to time) and I really do appreciate how they take the time to notice my interests. Though today, I never would have thought that my aunt would come to such lengths as to find me an amazing figure that basically HITS my interests dead on.... Asuka Langley... A Medicom Asuka Langley (School Uniform Ver.) figure.... Out of all random things, she actually figured out what I wanted (well.. kinda wanted but the point is that she took the time to realize what I liked and actually passed my expectations xD). The expression on my face was priceless (according to her) as I gave her a big hug and jumped around for joy. I know I know.... It isnt very traditional to open x-mas gifts early but she insisted! This is so awesome! Though... I was curious about HOW she got it since there was no box or stand that came with the figure, her only answer was: "I have an elf making toys in my garage
".Medicom Asuka Langley:
I've always had a beef with Medicom but have ALWAYS been curious about their line of Evangelion figures (which are pretty expensive for some reason
), specifically in Shinji Ikari. I've always promised myself that I would only purchase Shinji IF Medicom made a School Uniform Version for him like how they have with Mari, Asuka, and Rei. I guess I should stop hoping since many toy companies always aim for the girls in the series -_-. Although Shinji is my favorite character in the series, Asuka would have to be my 2nd favorite (And yes... I would choose Asuka between her and Rei) mainly because of her preppy personality. I know Asuka isnt really seen as a comic relief character but she is for me. It seems like the series goes from plain (Shinji going through hardships and checking out an unemotional Rei) to sudden randomness (When a b****y German/Japanese school girl comes over and steps all over him). Gotta Love the Asuka.

Gotta Love the Asuka. So all excited and what not, I come to my desk and start to fiddle with Asuka abit! Everything is A-OK this time Medicom! Then I finally insert the first hand peg and um...
..... Why is it not fitting? WTF.....
I knew something wrong would happen... I just knew it... This is the first time i've had hand issues with a medicom figure so I assume one of two things:
I knew something wrong would happen... I just knew it... This is the first time i've had hand issues with a medicom figure so I assume one of two things: 1. Medicom Fail
2. Seller or "Maker" of this figure distributed the wrong hands to my aunt
I wasnt really sure since the hands were actually in an unopened plastic bag... Though I could be wrong. So I did manage to fix the problem the best way I could (though I still slightly damaged Asuka wrist, clumsy me
) and was finally able to produce more photos of her (which i'll share briefly). I'm really impressed with Asuka's head sculpt and her body is abit different from the other bodies used for Misa and Chun-Li. The articulation is alright, the rubber torso is still there, and the arm design is the same as the others... Though, it seems like she has a different design for her legs... They look photogenic but it feels like they dont twist or turn the same as the other figures... Bending her knees shows off the joint which holds together her shins and thighs, kinda odd to look at... geez or maybe im just imagining things. Other than that, everything else is great! the uniform is accurate, she has multiple hands for her small gadget, actual socks and shoes, PLUS it feels like you could pose the upper/outer top that holds her skirt (Lets just call them suspenders?
).

).Pros:
- Very detailed! I'd prefer it over the plug-suit version.
- Quite a few hands
- Interesting body design, cant really complain about the articulation
Cons:
- Hand Peg DIDNT FIT! Hopefully this was just an issue for me.
- Odd Knee joint (Note: Misa and Chun-Li also have bendable knees and the design looks ok, I dont know why they changed it)
.
Asuka: Light!!! Lemme write my number in your notebook!
Light: NO! Stop acting like an idiot and scram!

Asuka:Hehehe... Ok Light... I wont write in your neat notebook if you do me a favor... ;)
Light:.....What? (I swear im going to kill you as soon as I get it back from you..)

Asuka: Nya~ Take off my shoes
Light:....(Just you wait....)

Asuka: I have tiny feet! Dontcha think so Light? ^_^
Light:......(To think that in a few minutes from now...)

Light:......(You'll be dead....)

Light:...... (What the hell is that smell....? it smells like...)

Asuka: I knew I shouldnt have borrowed Ikari's socks....
DML (Dragon) Claire Redfield:
As mentioned before, I am a fan of Biohazard games and of course most of you know Claire Redfield. To be honest, I DID own Claire many years ago during my early High School years but the figure eventually ended up in bad shape and then lost (Dont ask). I believed I purchased Claire earlier this year at a comic book store that was closing. I thought it would be a good opportunity to snatch it up so she could go along with RPD Leon make a few RE2 Scenes (I also got her to take photos for a certain someone
). Cant really say much about the figure other than it being very game like. The body Dragon used is indeed rubber and looks very photogenic in many photos. She comes with a large array of weaponry (like many other Biohazard figures... hm...), fabricated clothes (nothing detailed and the blue jeans dye her rubbery legs blue so stop imagining), and a very decent head sculpt which im sure i'll have to place onto another random body once the rubber of this figure cracks or dries out. I do have alot of beefs with this figure which i'll explain in a minute, i'll post a few more photos before I get into all of that:

Pros:
- Awesome game-like head sculpt
- Body is photogenic, keep away from zombies
- Alot of weapons! Especially her signature knife and Crossbow
- Great asset to any Biohazard Collection
- Rubber body cracks/dries over time (not for a while)
- No extra hands
- Articulation isnt all that great, her wire skeleton wears/breaks.
- Better pray Hot Toys doesnt make an updated Claire fig.

I did find out that Echobase toys and eBay have her in stock. Good luck if you're interested.
Medicom Ako Seto (瀬戸 憧子):
To be honest, I've never seen or have HEARD of the Dragon Head manga or movie. A couple of years back I wanted a realistic looking figure to take snapshots of and finally noticed a listing for Ako on a list of manufactured figures by Medicom. I searched through eBay and have not found ANYTHING. Weeks later, I decided to look again and saw a listing for a Dragon Head figure that wasnt Ako... I messaged the seller to see if there would be any hopes of finding her but the seller told me that he doesnt have her in stock. Weeks later I search again for the heck of it and find out that the SAME SELLER was selling the WHOLE Dragon Head figure collection (Only 3 figs all together lol) for $300! I asked if I could purchase Ako alone but the selly rejected my offer. Over MORE time (I've lost count at this point xD), the seller emailed me a cheap offer for Ako for some reason and I took the offer right away! Ako's original body didnt move and only had like 5 points of articulation... Sooooo I ordered a light obitsu body and switched her head sculpt and clothes! VIOLA! A poseable Ako figure.

Pros? Well Obitsu bodies are pretty awesome, the head sculpt still amazes me, and the clothes look like a style out of a horror movie like how they should be. Cons? I think her neck seems abit too long (my fault anyways since I attached her head sculpt).
High Dream Terry Bogard:
Capcom games? I'm with them all the way. SNK? Eh.... so so. Although I personally love Capcom games wayyy more than SNK, I do have a big love for Capcom VS SNK 2. 1-3 way teams, different grooves/guages, awesome sound track, and awesome roster of characters! It's fresh, its crisp, and its CLEAN! Anyways... Terry Bogard and Ryo Sakazaki and memorable characters to me out of the SNK franchise (Kyo and Mai and Athena and more im sure, but lets save that for another time) and seeing that Terry Bogard was 1 of 4 Capcom vs SNK 12" figures released, I HAD to get my hands on one. I never thought about buying Terry Bogard since I never knew he existed (I've seen Ryu and Ken and Iori but thats about all) but Terry? I didnt believe it until I saw an auction for him from a seller from Texas. Scored Terry for $20 with his box and everything. I've always thought Terri Bogard was a cool cat, I mainly remember his trademark Fatal Fury cap (Its kinda like Ash Ketchum's Pokemon Hat, you just CANT forget about it) and man.... He's bad ass. He has the same body and Ryu and as i've explained before, the articulation on these bodies are just ok. Could be alot better though, ESPECIALLY the head movement. Terry is probably one the more rarer figures I actually own in this collection, though I could be wrong
.
.

Pros:
- Great job with the head sculpt, especially the hat and pony-tail.
- Articulation is OK
- Hard to find? lol
- ARE YOU OK?!?!?!?!
- Head Sculpt were all real hair and fabric cap would have been awesome
- His hands are like Ryu's hands (They come off and could only twist...)
- High Dream could have used a better body for better articulation
I'm only going to do these four figures for now, I hope you all enjoyed reading my small reviews/opinions about these figures. I do have more figures to take photos of so stick around! Again, wish you all happy holidays!
And try not to be gloomy like me and Asuka.
