Figs in mah turkey this year.... (Repost) (11/26/10)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today was a pretty awesome, I managed to eat alot of food and hang around with family. Wasnt very big but cant really complain right? I guess since Black Friday is occuring pretty soon, i'd better be prepared for tomorrow since im sure ALOT of people are going to end up being hurt and will probably end up going to the hospital tomorrow :x. Hopefully many of you will play it safe and WONT end up being stepped on in front of Best Buy or Target or something. Figures have been on the down low lately and I havent been playing much as usual (Except for maybe some Way of the Samurai 3 and FF8). Well! Lets get things going, shall we?

Figure Talk:

So uhh.... I've won 2 figures on eBay and never really payed much attention to them. I dont know if anybody really cared to bid on these or if I was super lucky but well... I guess i'll just show you:

Medicom RAH Light Yagami

   

Zoloworld's Death (Reaper)/Skeleton Body

Couldnt miss out on these since they were both found at such low prices (I cant believe you guys!). I was especially shocked at Light Yagami since I thought he'd be flying off the shelf quickly (I guess everyone's more into L? ). Both are pretty neat and will make great finalizations to my collection. I know i've said this over and over and over but I really do mean so this time. I seriously have to stop focusing on wants and need to move on with other things. Figure collecting is an awesome hobby and I would love to take the time to take more photos of my collection during my free time but its about time I focus my mula on other things such as my SPD Class and other College Classes as well. I'm sure I will continue again sooner or later but there arent really any figures that I desire at this time. There is one more WIP Custom im waiting for from Setsuna and Haruka's shop and its been weeks! Hopefully they'll shoot me an email sooner or later so we could all call it a day (you'll know once I receive it ). Until then, we'll all have to sit back and look around on my dA or flickr for other updates (I'll still be posting here sometimes so dont worry ). Erm... Back to the figures, I do admire them for their appearances but BOTH of them have questionable articulation and I CANT STRESS HOW MUCH I HATE MEDICOM BODIES! I've already managed to snap Light's Arm and left leg while trying to GENTLY find articulation points!  WTF!!!! THIS TIME I tried searching for them KNOWING how fragile Medicom bodies are! I mean compared to Hot Toys, High Dream, Azone, Volks, or any other company, it seems MEDICOM has the WORST DURABLE BODY OF THEM ALL!

I DID manage to glue his joints back but NOW I have to find ANOTHER medicom body for him! IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS THE 2ND MALE MEDICOM FIGURE I OWN THAT HIS BROKEN ON ME! SHAME ON YOU MEDICOM!! *HISSSSSSSS!!!!*

- Pros about Medicom RAH Light Yagami:

• Very detailed! I could put him next to an anime snapshot or manga snapshot and they'd loook alike
• Comes with Multiple Hands and a Death Note (neat!)
• Cool outfit from the series, Im sure alot of you would find a way to dress him in different outfits also found in the series
• OK articulation

Cons:

• Medicom Body is $@*$&%^ FRAGILE!
• Head is attached to the neck in a way that is too noticeable. Not very appealing in certain angles
• Looking at the Price Range for Light, I honestly dont think hes worth that much money
• Wish he had more accessories like an apple or a pen or his watch. (L doesnt come with any accessories so I shouldnt even complain)

I wouldnt really be bi*** if Light were made from another company or ATLEAST had a better body. The articulation is limited and its fragile! GEEZ! I cant stress enough about how crappy these bodies are! Alot of Death Note fans may have purchased these and have suffered the same fate as I have (Note: I have noticed quite a few BROKEN Death Note figures on Ebay, Especially this L that had a broken leg and ANOTHER with a broken arm... Sad....-_-). I know alot of you are hardcore Death Note fans so just AS a Warning: DONT flex these figures very far. You'd be better off keeping them in the box or just moving their limbs abit here and there. As for me, I do the same thing i've done with a NEW toy EVER SINCE I WAS A KID! I open up the box, move the limbs around, leave it in a cool stance, and put it up somewhere for others to see. If This body fails to even keep itself together with the 2nd step then what is the point? Might as well buy a statue. On the plus side (as mentioned before), the figure looks awesome.... Though looks can be deceiving, huh Medicom? 

-Pros about Zoloworld's Grim Reaper:

• Every inch of him is detailed
• His limbs come apart (as expected for a skeleton)
• HE GLOWS!!!!!!!
• Lots of accessories

Cons:

• Due to his limbs being removable, his articulation isnt great -sigh-
• Zoloworld has given him some pretty retarded hands for some reason

Articulation.... Articulation.... Articulation.....ARTICULATION! Why arent many companies getting this main aspect right?! The appearance on Death is VERY outstanding but I cant even move his arms INWARD without snapping it off! It was a cool idea to make his limbs removable but this is ridiculous. His arms barely move inward, his legs barely move inward, and I cant even make him hold his scythe in a bad ass way because his HANDS and ARMS dont support those positions. The only thing I could make him do is hold his scythe in one hand and make him point or reach out at you. Forgot to mention that MOST of his hands only support his right arm, I assume his hand for HOLDING accessories has 1 thumb appearing on one side and one thumb appearing in the bottom (I suppose to make it seem like he could have his holding hand on either arm but THAT doesnt help him much now, does it?) . I wanted him to ATLEAST have 2 holding hands so I could have him look as if hes chasing someone with his scythe or something. Other than that, I like how they gave him the paint to glow in the dark (I'll take a photo of it sometime, sorry!). It's a very cool figure, especially for Halloween shots (and yes he does look pretty bad ass next to Light Yagami). Maybe I could make Light Wear his cloak and hold his scythe or something. I almost forgot to mention that he also has a bunch of accessories that ALSO relate to the other Zolorworld Skeleton. So Basically if you ARE going to buy Zoloworld's creation then make sure its the Grim Reaper so you'll be able to make him look like Death OR a skeleton warrior since the figure ALSO comes with a spear, 2 shields, and a sword (which is what the normal skeleton body comes with). 2 Figures in 1, awesome!

Gamer Talk:

Been doing a Final Fantasy VIII run lately (Yes.... I know I havent finished FFVII yet). I thought i'd kick it up a notch and make things challenging by doing things I never did before. I'm trying to give everyone different abilities in the Junction system to make things challenging (Some may summon GFs and Stock while some may only use magic and cant summon GFs, weak huh?). So far things are gonig great! I'm kicking alot of ass for an old veteran! So far i'm already on disk 2. I cant believe I forgot how funny Laguna is in the series, ah.... What a classy guy.


I've been using Dan in SSFIV and man.... I've been getting owned like CRAZY! I have had my way through a few players but I usually end up getting my butt handed to me because of a weak mistake I make with Dan (whether its executing his 1st Ultra at the WRONG time or me just jumping in the air like a dumbass). I still do get serious with Vega but I dont have as much fun using him like I do with Dan. Besides... Losing with Dan isnt a big deal, nobody really cares since they see him as a joke character for some reason -cough-.... I apologize to you Dan pros.


Way of the Samurai 3 (inb4 picture not related) is going alright. I'm trying to level up my swords, save yen, and store food for when I fight Nobunaga and take his Hoe (The weapon/farming tool...). Not really making much progress since i've been playing FF8 lately. -sigh-

Sonic Colors and New DK Country look awesome! These may be the games that'll make me pay more attention to my Wii. Forgot to mention the newer list of characters for mvc3 (Zero, She-Hulk, Jill, Suma) making appearances in the game. Some of them look pretty eh and im STILL wondering why Zero is in the game but no Megaman, WHY she-hulk, WHY add a 3rd RE character, and why bring up the most random veterands like Shuma Gorath? I dont have any beef with these characters but it seems like Capcom sure is being random with this game like how they were being random when bringing Hakan into SSFIV. Is it the kind of Randomness we want? Or is Capcom failing the Randomness factor? 


Anybody remember this awesome mother-father of a game? THIS game was as good as uncharted 2 man.... THIS GAME is a fighting game, a party game, a racing game, a shooter, a boxing game, a wrestling game, an rpg game, AND it had FF7 characters in it. I know what you're all thinking.... "Are you a moron? "

P.S.... I also did play chess against some random dude on PSN home earlier this week. Yeah.... I still suck at it .

Anime Talk:
Went to Borders a while ago and picked up 2 new Mangas: SunDome and SSFIV. A friend mentioned SunDome to me a while ago and I saw it wrapped in plastic so I just picked it up and purchased it along with the SSFIV Graphic Novel (If you consider it one... Colorful comic panels make me GLEEEEEEEEEEEE with joy!). Oh.... My.... God..... Wtf am I reading? I finally figured out why readers in the manga section were looking at me when I picked this up... I had no idea this was such a pervy story! DUUUUUUDE! I flip a couple of pages and I already see this girl sitting on the main characters crotch dude! wtf are you readers reading?! This is probably the MOST Mature manga I have in my collection. LOL I know I know, im not giving the story a chance. I've had a chance to actually read into it and thought the story was pretty interesting so far. Kinda bland since it just reminds me of other er.... Is it Ecchi? But yeah... Been there, seen that.  Though the story is interesting, i'll just keep this single volume in my collection. I'm looking for something a bit more interesting. Maybe something abit familiar like the Dot Hack series...-sigh-
Either that or Watch more Fist of the North Star on my PC.

Managed a way to get the Daria series on my PC which I am happy about but sadly dont have the time to watch . I'll probably find a way to watch next week when I get off of work! I'm also trying to plan another adventurous trip to Six-Flags or maybe a cavern or national park around California, im kinda tired of being depressed at home so its about time I spread my wings and find something to do! While im planning for college/SPD class, i'll manage a way to do some research around Cali! So feel free to leave comments about fun places in Cali! I'm sure alot of you WONT but... Oh well! Cant blame a guy for trying... Or can you....?
