Hot Toys Leon has finally arrived. (Repost) (September 2, 2010 @ 10:54 pm)

YESSSSS! FINALLY! Hot Toys Leon has finally arrived! I was so excited to receive him from UPS that I even emailed the seller many thanks (im sure he probably has a full inbox by now Confused smile). I guess I might as well write a small review? I'm not really good at these things but I guess you'll never know until you try, right?

Hot Toys - 1/6 Scale Leon S. Kennedy (RPD Version):

To be honest, years ago I never really was a big Biohazard fan. When the series released on Playstation long ago, I never really payed much attention to it but I was aware of the storyline and characters. I actually did stick around to see a few friends play through the game and even I was pretty creeped out with the games creepy atmosphere and enemies. The series delivered an amazing job being a thriller type game. Year after year the series developed and has turned into many sequels, prequels, and movies. EVENTUALLY I did play Biohazard 4 as my first and favorite Biohazard game of all. I didnt want to play at first since I wasnt used to the genre but after a few hours of playing, I enjoyed it. Going around the village as Leon and shooting down Ganados, Parasitests, Dogs, and many other enemies that just blew my mind. Leon became my favorite hero from the series and i've always wanted to get his figure ever since its first release (I couldnt since I was working at the time). Eventually it took me years to finally get my hands on one and i'll never be letting it go no matter what Open-mouthed smile.

The package design just blew my mind when I first saw it in the postal box. The Biohazard logo is noticeable and very simple. I believe this box is SUPPOSED to be the USA/EUR design (correct me if im wrong), the black box is supposed to be the Asia release (black would have been cooler to have but beggers cant be choosers Sarcastic smile). The front panel releases from a small magnet in the box and shows you the figure along with the array of weapons and accessories founds in Biohazard 4. I dont think there is much of a difference with the box design between Biohazard 4 Leon and RPD Leon (except for the small red sign that tells the buyer that it's the RPD version). Box was also a keeper so I decided to stash it in my closet for safe keeping.

Leon being my first desired Hot Toys figure gave me alot of expectations that were gladly met. Im only going to share my opinions based on what I know/compare with other figures, not JUST because hes my favorite character in the Biohazard Series. I'd pretty happy with his articulation, he forms many poses that are seen in the game. I havent tried doing anything weird like High Kick poses or anything "Yoga-like" but im pretty much pleased with the poses Leon could pull off so far since many of them are seen within the game. The only thing that disappoints me are the hands, I thought it would be pretty cool if he came with an extra set of hands for more multiple poses but I guess he only has the ones that are capable of gripping on to his set of weapons(which isnt really a bad thing since this could make a large variety of different poses with a simple shotgun or what not). The extra accessories that are strapped onto him tend to undo when he is posed too often and I usually have to make sure everything is fit tightly so no straps or falling knee pads would appear in photos. Posing him just right seems to be a problem of my own since I REALLY try my best to pose him like his preview photos but im sure with some practice, he'll end up looking pretty cool other than just some random noobish poses (like what i've been doing... lol). Other than that, his articulation and design pleases me. His design resembles the game so well that I could even point my camera behind his back to make a "3rd person view" and it would just blow my mind just seeing this game like feeling within my camera. Heres a few more photos below:

For now I could only pull off a few Biohazard 2 poses since Claire is around as well. I might eventually buy enemy figures to create a more "game feel" for future photos. Im really glad I managed to pick up the RPD version, although I played Biohazard 4 and liked Leons new development, I was also a fan of his old character as well. Seeing his RPD uniform in Biohazard 4 was a real treat. Leon is sold out in MANY places due to his popularity and hes really hard to find. I wont really go into details on how I received him but lets just say that eBay sure does work wonders. Its already September so im really hoping that Jill Valentine will be released sooner or later as well. The Sideshow website DID have the release date for August but eventually changed it to September so im just biting my nails and HOPING that she'll make a release soon and not as some lame date like September 27th or October.

Feel free to click on the image, it will take you to the sideshow website. Too bad I didnt order from here though. Smile with tongue out

Anime/TV? :
Since i've talked so much about Biohazard and figure, its about time I cut this short and talk more about whats been on tv lately. A buddy of mine showed me an awesome show on ABC called "Modern Family". Its been a while since i've seen a good family show like Family Matters or Married with Children but this show really takes the cake. I do like the humor, the "reality tv" concept takes over once again but this kind is actually welcomes, the different scenes with multiple family members is REALLY interesting, and Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill) makes an appearance which is a real treat for me. I hope to see more episodes on ABC or via online once I get the chance, I cant wait! Other than finishing Fist of the North Star 2, I havent really seen really much anime lately, NOW I am currently that old school Megaman cartoon on Justin.tv (if you really consider it anime), Later on I may hopefully have the chance to watch the new Futurama tonight and MAYBE even find out what day the new Always Sunny in Philadelphia season airs on tv. September is the start of an interesting time for TV, lets see what it has to offer by the end of the year.

New Futurama Tonight! Dont miss it or else i'll have to get Hypno-Toad on you....

Speaking of Megaman Open-mouthed smile

Atatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatatata!!!!!!!!!!

Dont have much to say to end this post. Hopefully I could get more small things to make this place abit more interesting. Thanks for looking everyone! Be sure to come back, you'll never know when I may update again... Eye rolling smile
